Paneer Masala – Indian Fresh Cheese Curry2014-11-02
Paneer masala is aromatic and exotic spices flavors Indian fresh chees or Paneer. Paneer Butter Masala basically originated from Punjab, also termed as Paneer Makhani, Indian fresh cheese curry. It is very popular curry in East, West and North India. In restaurants, chefs make this curry with litters of butter and Ghee to attract their customers with taste. Paneer Masala is number one rated dish in any restaurant. It is served with Roti, poori or Paratha.
- Paneer – 2cups
- Tomato – 1 finely chopped
- Onions -2 (finely chopped)
- Cumin seeds -1 tsp
- Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
- Ginger garlic paste -1 tsp
- Cloves - 4
- Cashews -1 tsp
- Cinnamon stick -2
- Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
- Chili powder - 1/4 tsp
- Yogurt – 4tspt
- Coriander leaves – 1 bunch
- Butter - 5 tsp
- Vegetable oil -1 tsp
Paneer Preparation: Heat 1tsp. oil in a Pan, add 1 cup paneer cubes. Fry until it become golden Brown color. Transfer Paneer cubes to a bowl. Grate another one cup paneer.
Masala powder Preparation: Heat 1 tsp. oil in a pan, add cloves, cumin seeds and cinnamon sticks. Remove them and grind it to fine powder.
Paste Preparation: Heat 1 tsp. oil in a Pan, add chopped onion and tomatoes, ginger garlic paste for few minutes. Take out and grind it to fine paste.
Masala Preparation: Heat ghee in a Pan, add cashews, coriander powder, Garam masala, salt, chili powder and masala powder from step 2. When nice aroma comes out, add paste from step 3.
Gravy making: Fry all the ingredients till raw flavor goes away and add Yogurt. Keep stirring until the gravy becomes thick. When Gravy becomes thick, add fried paneer cubes and grated paneer. Mix tall the ingredients well. Add 1 cup of water, heat it in a low flame for 10 mins. So that gravy is absorbed into paneer
Garnishing: Garnish the Paneer masala with fresh coriander leaves.
Tips:Instead of making masala in step 2, you can buy directly a readymade Paneer butter masala powder from any shop. It is easy and tasty way to make Paneer masala curry.
