Paneer Peas Pulao – Basmati Rice Pulav


Paneer Peas Pulao – Basmati Rice Pulav – This pulao is simple similar to green peas pulao with the addition of paneer. It is very mildly spiced and is very tasty.


  • Green Peas- 1 1/2 cups (frozen)
  • Basmati Rice - 2cups
  • Paneer-1 ½ cups
  • Water - 4cups
  • Green chilies -3
  • Ginger - 2tsp. (Grated)
  • Garlic -2 tsp.. (Grated)
  • Onion chopped-2cup (lengthwise)
  • Mint leaves- 1/2 cup
  • Cloves- 5
  • Cinnamon sticks - 2
  • Cardamoms- 5
  • Bay leave - 2
  • Salt-as per taste
  • Ghee- 3 tbsp.
  • Coriander-for garnishing


Step 1

Rice Preparation: Clean and wash the rice.

Step 2

Masala Preparation: Heat 1tsp. of oil in a pan, fry cloves, cinnamon sticks and grated ginger and garlic. When nice flavor comes out, turn of the heat and Grind the above ingredients.

Step 3

Paneer Preparation: Heat 1/2 tsp. of oil in a nonstick pan, add paneer and roast it until golden brown color.

Step 4

Tempering: Heat 2 tsp. of oil in a pan, add cardamom, bay leaf, chopped onion and finely grinded paste. When raw flavor disappears, add peas, roasted paneer and mint leaves.

Step 5

Garnishing: Garnish the rice with Coriander leaves. Serve Paneer Ghee rice with Spicy curry.


Once nice aroma comes out, add soaked rice fry until the moisture disappears. Now add double the quantity of boiling water add salt and close the lid or you can transfer this to a pressure cooker. Cook it in a a low flame for 15 mins.
Once rice got cooked completely or pressure released completely pour remaining ghee on it. Gently mix well.
